The piece that I chose is my fiction piece. I think this is my best piece and it is my overall favorite. In this story I had to create a characters internal and external trait. The external trait would be how he or she looks like their hair and the clothes they wear. Internal trait would be what sports they play and the things they like to do like their hobbies. In this story I had to have a very detailed story because I really wanted people to get the big picture of the story and how a girl named Katie really wanted something a would do anything to get it because I meant so much to he and she just couldn’t let I go.
In my fiction story the characters hopes were to become an actress. She loves acting and she just wanted to act for her whole life. What she wants is to be in a play so she can practice to be an actress but her parents don’t the she can do it but Katie knows she can. Her desire is to be actress and try out for that play the play was Romeo and Juliet. She hoped to be Juliet. It was her hope and desire. In this story I also had to create and obstacle. Katie wanted to be an actress but her parents didn’t support her in it.
These things I just talked about are all skills that I think could help me in my everyday life. One big skill that I learned was writing conversation. When I just got into 6th grade and we learned about story writing I was hearing all about conversation I had never used that in my story writing but now I do and I think it really helped all the pieces I did this year. I also wanted that when someone reads my piece, they can make connections. I think when someone can connect they can really get the point of the story to their life.
I think I have to improve many things. I need to improve staying on topic. I would be talking about one thing but then it just gets off topic. I also need to improve by making longer sentences. I have sentences that just say something like, “That’s cool”, just two words in one sentence. When someone reads that they will be thinking in their head boring. I don’t want people to think that way about my piece. One other thing I think I need to improve is checking over my spelling. I have to always check over my spelling cause if it’s wrong, I don’t want people to be thrown off in the story. Even one mistake could mess up the whole sorry. If someone was reading my story and there was a mistake then that would be bad and I would be embarrassed. That’s what I think I need to improve and if I do I think it could help me in middle school.
Katie Ding, ding, ding, ding there goes the alarm clock trying to wake up Katie as she’s reaching over trying to find the snooze button. Then she finally woke up after hitting the snooze button 10 times. She jerks her head and sits up on her bed yawning like she never even went to bed. Katie then gets off her bed and walks over to her draw to get a pair of socks to put on her feet because it’s freezing in her room. As she was putting on her socks she was thinking about what she was doing that day. Then Katie went over to her mirror to brush her beautiful brown wavy hair. Then it came to her today I’m going to try out for a play so I learn how to be an actress. Then she shrugged how am I going to get to the play without my parents seeing me. They really don’t want me to be an actress just a doctor. “Why?” Katie asked. Then she got it she will call up her friend Chelsea she’s going to try out for the play to so they could pretend like they were going to see a movie but really they were going to drive to their school. Katie then walked over to get her phone so she could call Chelsea. She dilled Chelsea’s number and she answered with a “Hello.” Katie replied back “Hey”. Then Katie explained it to her. At first Chelsea thought it was mean to trick Katie’s parents but then she thought about it and said “Ok” because she knew that she couldn’t try out for the play without her best friend. “Hold on.” Katie said “Hey mom can Chelsea come over and then can we go to the movies.” “Yes.” Mom replied “You can come over now and we can go to the movies.” Katie explained to Chelsea “Ok I will be over soon.” Chelsea replied Since Katie and Chelsea are neighbors it didn’t take long for Chelsea to come up and ring the door bell. “Ding” well here she is. “Hey.” They both said “Mom we’re going to go to the movies.” Katie yelled up the stairs. “Ok see you later.” Then Katie reached over to open the door when they saw Katie’s dad driving past the house because he’s a police officer in the community. “Hey.” Katie said “Hey.” Dad replied as he was driving away in his car. They got in Chelsea’s car and started driving to the high school when they saw Katie’s dad again right as they were walking into the school. Katie’s dad had known about the play where it was and when it was so they were in trouble. “Get over here.” Said Katie’s dad angrily “Fine.” Said Katie as Chelsea ran into the high school “Thanks a lot”. Said Katie as she was walking over to her dads car “Why won’t you let me be and actress.” “Just get in the car.” Raged dad They drove home in the car it was just silence. When they got home Katie ran up to the door opened it and ran up the stairs. Then Katie’s dad came in and talked to Katie’s mom for a while then he left. “Katie get down here.” Said mom Katie didn’t say anything she just walked down the stairs and went into the living room where mom was. “What.” Said Katie “You are trouble.” Mom yelled! “Why would you sneak out like that?” “I want to be an actress not a doctor.” Katie said angrily “Well your dad and I have been talking and it if you can show us that this is what you want to do and if your good then you can try out for plays and shows.” “Now go try out for that play.” “Ok.” Said Katie happily Then Katie walked over to the door and her dad said he would drive her over to the high school. When Katie got to the school she opened the door quickly and ran up to the school door as she was opening the door she yelled “Bye dad and thank you.” He smiled as he drove away in his cop car. Katie was now running down the hall and turned into the auditorium. “Is there time for another audition?” “Yes.” Said Mrs. B “Who are you trying out to be?” Mrs. B said “Juliet.” Replied Katie Then she went up on the stage and did what she needed to do she was amazing everyone clapped for her and the teacher yelled, “You’re the one you’re Juliet.” Everyone was so happy for her. At the end Mrs. B picked the parts for the play and as we all knew Katie was Juliet. Katie sat down by Chelsea and she apologized and Katie said it was ok, because she knew that it would be wrong to hold her friend back even though she couldn’t try out for the play. Mrs. B called Katie over and said, “You have an amazing talent and you could along way with this. I’m not telling anyone else this but there is going to be a big TV star and director and this could be your big chance. I’m counting on you practice, practice, practice.” After Katie and Chelsea talked they rode over to Katie’s house and told Katie’s mom the big news. She was so surprised but happy for Katie. ” I can’t wait for the show.” Said mom “Thanks me either”. Replied Katie Chelsea and Katie went upstairs. Time went on and before you knew it was time for the play Katie did awesome and so thought the big director. She is now in movies and TV shows. Katie’s parents were so happy for her.

“What.” Said Katie
“You are trouble.” Mom yelled!

“Well your dad and I have been talking and it if you can show us that this is what you want to do and if your good then you can try out for plays and shows.”
